Before I had my 3 children I was about 140lbs. I never had to diet or exercise and now I have a lot of weight to lose and I honestly have no idea what to do... My husband and I have been going on walks every morning and I watch what I eat very carefully. I have been doing this for about 2 weeks now and I have gained 4lbs. I just cant figure out what I am doing wrong.

OMG Rebecca- I can totally sympathize! I am the mother of 2 boys, our youngest is 2. I really noticed a change after the second pregnancy. I had no energy, I was eating all the time, I was sluggish and depressed! I felt like I lost myself. Not a good place to be. It wasn’t until I declined my 3rd Evite to a social gathering that my friend starting wondering what the “real” reason was that I was declining. We had a great talk one night and I confessed that I was really depressed and felt very embarrassed about my appearance- which is why I had been avoiding social gatherings. She shared with me a program that she said “changed her life” and I was at a point in my life where I was desperate to try anything. So I did the 24 Day Challenge which consists of a 10 day cleanse and a 14 day lean phase. I lost 27lbs in 6 weeks and had more energy than I had since college. Now I’m hoping to help other mom’s out there who felt the way I felt, to see that there is a way to feel like your old self again! This 24 Day Challenge is the only program that I’ve done where I’ve maintained the weight loss! I am now an energetic, positive, healthy mother, spouse and friend! Because I’m SO passionate about the program and want to share it with the world, I’ve put together a website explaining what the 24 Day Challenge and what it entails. Please feel free to check it out. This could be what changes your life for the better- just like it did for me! Best of luck to you and God bless your family! In health~ Star

You are doing great! You've started, now just keep going. It is actually common to gain weight at first. Make sure you are eating small meals every 2-3hrs & lots of water. Maybe increase the intensity of your walking or try something new. You've got to get your heart rate up to burn more calories. Keeping a food and exercise journal can help you see where changes need to be made. First you should find out how many calories you need to meet each day according to your weight & activity level. There are many websites for this. Hope this helps!

Hi Rebecca,
I know how you feel...Sounds like what I went through about 5 years ago! I was watching what I ate, portion control and even exercising up to two hours a day...but nothing helped! Then my Doctor recommended this Nutritional Cleanse. I was able to release 22 pounds and 31 inches! (Plus it helped with a lot of other health issues!) I have since done a lot of studying, so I have a lot of tips. I'll list some of them here, but I can't be specific on the Nutritional Cleanse in this post, i'll message you that info...but I can definately help you! I like everything Tammy said, keep a food journal, not just for what you eat, but your emotions at the time too. Get plenty of sleep, if not, you'll release cortisol, the "stress" hormone and it makes you store fat. I know with a baby and kids that's easier said than done. LOL. Drink lots of water, i'd shoot for about 3 quarts a day. Make sure you have breakfast, this starts your metabolism! Every time you eat you should be having a lean protein, a complex carb, and some fat. (the good kind of fat)...even for a mid-afternoon snack. (protein and complex carb always...for example: a small apple and a string cheese, or 6 raw almonds and a pear.) Eat as clean as you can. You'd be surprised at what this can do for you. I'd also limit sugar, cut out soda...even diet. There is other stuff in soda that's not good for you! Walking is great. Is it getting your heart rate up? I'd also recommend some strength training. Women especially need to build up some muscle. (nothing bulky, but muscle helps burn fat) Get a support system! We get 80% better results when we have support. Visualize yourself at your ideal weight, cut out pictures and put your face on them if you have to!(and FEEL the excitement of being in that body) I'd love to help out any way I can. Message me if you need extra support! I am passionate about helping other women reach their goals!

Hi Rebecca. I feel your pain. I went through this too - it can be really frustrating. Here are a few things to make sure you are doing...
One very vital thing is to journal every single thing you put in your mouth. It's easy to watch what you eat but another to keep track of it through the day.
That's great that you are walking each morning! Try wearing a pedometer to keep your activity level up throughout the day - set goals on number of steps to challenge yourself to move more. Go for at least 10,000 steps and work up from there to keep yourself challenged.
Eat about every 3 hours to keep your blood sugar stable and your metabolism moving. Your meals should be balanced carb/protein. The "snack" type meals between your major meals should only be around 100-150 calories.
Go for unprocessed food as much as possible (read the ingredients - you should be able to identify them).
Drink a lot of water - 1/2 your body weight (lbs) in ounces. So if you weigh 180 lbs. you should drink at least 90 oz. of water each day.
Make sure you get enough rest as well.
Keep at it and don't give up! :)
