Love starting my day with a workout!! Sets the tone for the rest of the day. I wind up making better food choices and also tend to be in good spirits.

I lost over 100 pounds and have kept it off for over 10 years and I did it through admitting to myself that I ate too much. That's it. I didn't cut anything out, in fact I added stuff to my diet that I had cut out previously thinking it would make me gain weight. Once I got my portions under control, the weight came off. Believe it or not, I ate a bit of ice cream everyday for the first 70 pounds! I also incorporated TurboJam into my life, when I had lost about 50 pounds and I still do my same routines 5 days a week and love it. Portion control is key and a true admittance that you eat too much. You can eat too much of all the healthy things and gain weight just as fast as eating too much of the unhealthy things. Be honest with yourself and that is the real key.

The order of meal consumption is important
1. 30mins before meals - Eat 2 portions of fruits (open palm size) like apple, pears, dragon fruits, grapes etc helps to fill up the stomach as well as provide a cleasing feeling before main meals.
2. Start the main meal by eating steamed or lightly stir fried green vegies (open palm size)
3. Then eat protein from white meat- chicken or fish (closed palm size)
4. Last if still hungry , consume carbo last i.e rice, noodles, spaghetti, bread (halfed the normal portion or half cup)
In between meals, if hungry eat fresh fruits, do not snack on carbo or sweets

Keeping a food diary helps me to keep a check on how much I am eating and make positive changes if I am eating too much.
