I'm new to this and still not quite sure how it works. I have a 1 year old and I'm looking for some new ways to entertain him. Hopefully get together with other kids his age. He's a little behind so younger kids would be great too. We're kind of stuck in a routine right now. Any ideas?

Thanks Elfrieda. Unlikely toys are always the best! I was kind of looking more for play groups or an activity people are enrolled in that is great for 1 year olds to kind of get together.

My son loved boxes and putting stuff in them and taking it out when he was one. It's wonderful for the fine motor skills, especially if the thing to put in the box is only a bit smaller than the box itself. I had cereal boxes, cracker boxes, pringles containers, and toilet paper rolls strewn all over the house with balls, small toys, and squares of fabric to put into them.. It's all the simple non-toys that they're interested in at that age!

If your son walks already, he might be interested in a toy that drags behind him that he has to pull with a string. (or if you're suffering from too many boxes, tie a box to a string, put a jangly ball in it, and let him drag that!)
