10 month baby and she hasn't sat yet.

Hey everyone! I'm Stephanie and my little lady Sasha is turning 10months on the 6th. She was born 34 weeks premature and also has Tetrology of Fallot. Due to the fact that she is preemie I've been told she'd be a little delayed and even more because of her open heart surgery and the time spent in the hospital.

She's mastered rolling from each side. She tries to sit but doesn't quite get there. She ends up rolling on her belly. How long exactly will it take her to sit? Should I consider physical therapy? Or am I worrying too much?

It depends on how much time she spent in hospital, and how much time it took for her to recover and start exercising those muscles. Some healthy preemies catch up almost immediately, while those who had more extensive or repeated surgeries can take much longer. The nature of the surgeries plays a part as well.

If you are concerned, speak to her pediatrician at your next visit. Even if the delay does not warrant therapy, s/he can recommend different exercises to do with your baby to help her develop those core muscles.
