Doctors recommend keeping babies under 6 month old out of direct sunlight. However, for a 10 month old, I think it is ok. Make you put ample sunscreen, try to keep the hat on (its hard for some reason babies do not want to keep them on), and make sure he is well hydrated. If you feel like he is getting overheated, bring him indoors for brief periods.

My son is 8 month old and until recently I also felt trapped indoors. Brief periods outdoors is good for them and for you.

Oh yeah, and most places like a lot of babies stores and walmart sell bathing suits with SPF30 in them. I don't know the tech part works but it seems to be a good invention

I would say that going to the pool is the PERFECT SOLUTION to the heat! I'm sure your baby will enjoy cooling off in the water as much as you. But like everyone else said. Use sunscreen, and a hat, and avoid peak hours (between 11 and 1, I say)

I took my 8 month old to the pool and she loved it!! Just take sun precautions, not during high peak hours, sunscreen and a hat are all rules to live by this summer. He's probably tired of being in the house too. Enjoy the beautiful weather!~

Go out early in the morning or later in the evening. Make sure you offer him a lot of fluids and of course, use sunscreen. I wouldn't reccomend keeping him out more that and hour to an hour and a half (if you're in the pool). Use you're judgment. If you feel like he's getting too hot you can always go inside. Sunlight is good for kids. Just not too much sun!!!

At 10 months you can do just about anything as long as you take sun precautions and stay out of the jacuzzi. I used to take my son in to the pool almost daily. Just get him a really good hat and a swim shirt and trunks. I wasn't thrilled with the idea of coating his little body with suntan lotion so I mostly used the swim shirt (long sleeves) to cover his arms. We also did a lot of park time under the trees......

If its 90 degrees with no humidity then I think it would be fine. If its the latter then I would ask your Pediatrician and ask them for their opinion. Hope this helps:)

My son was a newborn last summer(April baby) and I felt the same way. We stayed inside during the hottest peak(usually 1-3pm) and went out before and after. Make sure he isn't over dressed, he should be wearing the same if not less then you, and put on that sunscreen and a hat, even if he is staying in the shade. Hydration is important as well.
