My son just had his appendix removed in Sept 2012 and now today he had a temp of 103.6; I ran to the pharmacy and got some fever reducer and gave him some (him and his father ALWAYS have a high-core temp, so I don't really know what would be considered a fever for him, he is usually 99.1) - it began to go down and it's been 3 1/2 hours now and it is working it's way back up - slowly. I keep checking his temp every 20-30 mins and he is getting aggravated. LOL He is down to 102.7 at the moment - but I don't know if I can give him more medicine. I guess I will wait for 30 more minutes and give him some more and then recheck his temp in an hour.

Don't let it get past 104. No matter what his normal body temp is this is when he is reaching a danger zone and can cause serious health issues. You can even have him take a cool to cold shower to lower it some. If you gave him the max dose of fever reducer make sure you wait until he is allowed another dose. Too much can cause liver failure. If you can't get it to a somewhat normal temp you need to take him to the ER. If it's staying somewhat okay for a few hours at a time you can call your doctor in the morning. Either way i think he needs to be seen soon.
