11 month old stopped breastfeeding abrubtly

My daughter who is almost 11 months old just decided the other day she didn't want to breastfeed anymore. She immediately starts crying and pushing away as soon as I try to get her in to position to breastfeed. I have been trying to work on the cup for a month or so and she will not take to it and I have even tried a bottle. I was working on the cup and cutting out one breastmilk feeding every 2 weeks to try to have her weaned by 1 year. Now she is not doing either. Any tips for me to help her? I do not want her to become dehydrated. The upside is that I don't have to fight to get her weaned, she did it all by herself.

Jodi, I actually started wondering about that. I could be and should probably take a test. Thank you!

I can't help with the issue of the daughter....is it possible you may be pregnant? My nephew went off his mum's breastmilk when she was pregnant with my niece, before she even knew she was pregnant again.

My brother weaned himself at about 9 months and just took to a sippy cup for milk and never looked back.

Thank you all! I have come to terms with the fact that she is done breastfeeding. Now I just have to hope and be patient she takes to her cup soon. She is not sick or teething, so I guess she just wanted to be done. I read that my hormones could have changed, so my milk may taste different too. Thanks!

Could it possibly be an ear infection is she sick? Often when they dont want to be in the position for breast feeding its because they have an ear infection it doesnt explain the cup or bottle though

Just keep offering her a cup and she'll get it soon. You could also try giving her a cup with a straw. If she's thirsty she'll drink. In the meantime you can also offer her fruits and veggies that have a high water content.

That's exactly what my son did and it broke my heart. :(
I felt like he didn't need me anymore. :( Sad sad day...I am so sorry. :(
Could she possibly be on a nursing strike? teething?
I managed to get my boy to drink cow's milk by putting some strawberry syrup in it...to make it sweet like breast milk.
