Hey mummies,

My 12 day old used to be a horrible night sleeper but now he only wakes for night feeds and has no problem going back to sleep. During the day when he was having issues sleeping at night, I had no problem putting him to sleep in his room when he was showing tired signs. Now he fights sleep all day no matter how tired he is or how soon I put him down when he starts looking tired. I've tried his bouncer to rock him to sleep, putting his basonet in the lounge room with me, rocking him to sleep in my arms, walking around with him. He falls asleep but wakes up a short time later and cries. I know bubs change week to week at this stage, but any one have any tips so I'm not spending the entire day trying to settle him on and off? Keen to start trying to sleep for at least one of his naps between feeds! He only has one brief awake period during the day the rest he sleeps normally.

Many congrats and in case it's helpful, I can recommend a Snooze Shade, it becomes a sleep trigger and baby starts to recognise that when it's on it's sleep time.. www.snoozeshade.com might be helpful when trying to establish a daytime nap routine x

he is =) I won't stress too much about his sleeping, I figure he'll sort himself out in time =)

Is he your first? You can expect a lot of weird sleeping habits the first 2 months. Heck mine still don't sleep and they're 2 and 5.5.
Sounds like you're doing a great job. He's just got his sleep mixed up.

thankfully he is sleeping really well at night now. He feeds every 2-3 hours now, putting a bigger gap between his night feeds so other then waking for those feeds he sleeps really well. His first 3 nights at home he didn't sleep at all until 5am and used to cry the whole time =\ So I'm glad this is just daytime sleeping problems now! lol they're so bloody unpredictable at this age, I figure this must just be this weeks quirk lol

He's getting used to night and day. They cycle at that age. No telling WHAT they might do lol. Is he sleeping at night?
