Hi, I'm new here my name is Elizabeth. I have a 13 year old daughter who skipped school with her friend. We did not find out about it until the next day when the school called. She got in big trouble. After a while I earned some of her trust and decided to give her back her phone. Her phone had messages that was very disturbing. She was talking to her friend (a girl) about sex. Her friend is a bad example and I dont want them together. She does not listen to me. Has anybody ever had this experience? What should I do?

The more you ban her from seeing a person the more she will rebel. All you can really do is talk about the right and wrong actions and punish those. Don't bring up her friend (even if she is the reason), tell her that if she continues with the messages or skipping school, there will be worse consequences. Make it harder for her to socialize outside of school with her "friend" and hopefully she will realize her friend isn't a good influence.
