13 year old has OCD/intrusive thoughts, have you tried medicine? ERP?

My 13 year old daughter has OCD and I've been afraid to try psychiatric medicine. Tried homeopathy which helped for a while, but then didn't. Got her into counseling, finally and we've gone back twice but it's not a person who does ERP, which I've learned is the best.

Seeking advice on what works. Got so bad this weekend I gave her Benadryl which has helped the past 2 nights. I'm reading some say it could stop in about 10 days and make it worse.

Can't get into a psych until late May but I will keep trying to find another one. She hates the idea of going to see someone, anyone, about the OCD. Seeing her suffer is behind excruciating. Please help.

Thank you for any feedback you can provide.

What are her behaviors? ERP can be effective but only a part of cognitive therapy and no necessarily the best. Giving her benadryl, does nothing but sedate her, so how is that helping? is she getting tired enough to stop the thoughts and falls asleep? She really need to see a psychiatrist, and I'd call and hound any office until they agree to see her. If she had intrusive thoughts, you don't know when they will start "telling" her to harm herself. I know how scary this can be but there re lots of medications and treatment modalities to help her.
