If he's on the spectrum, and medicated, then you need to closely monitor medications, and continue to request modifications until the meds are working for him. And, closely monitor for any changes, because medication managed conditions are constantly changing, and need adjustments.

It's very easy for children with autism (or any child really) to get frustrasted and lash out. In addition to medication he should be undergoing behavioral therapy (mostly for you) so that you can better understand what is going on and how to better interact with him :)
