14-Week Old Won't Stay Asleep on Her Own

I have a 14-week old daughter who will only nap for an hour if being held. If I try to put her down, she wakes right up. If she does fall asleep on her own it's for half an hour tops. Any suggestions as to what to do to get her to sleep longer w out my arm going numb everyday?

14 week is 3 1/2 months... that is still young to sleep through the night. but i suggest you quit holding her all the time. it is not healthy for the baby to be held all the time. she will cry at first.... but you are doing her a GREAT disservice to HERto be holding her all the time. how will the child ever learn to crawl/ grab toys/ walk/ play on their own, if you hold them all the time? one thing my mother taught me is to NEVER rock the baby to sleep. they need to learn to fall asleep on their own.
