My 16 month old little girl is having surgery tomorrow!!! She had surgery before (her pancreas was removed at 2 months old due to a genetic disorder) but for some reason I can't seem to shake this feeling of worry. She has sleep apnea which is one of the major reasons why they decided to do the surgery so young. I was wondering if any of you have been placed in a similar situation? If so is there anything you can tell me about the recovery process, like how long you stayed in the hospital and how your child's mood was?

also: she has a feeding tube and doesn't eat anything by mouth. I dont know if that will make it worse for her or not.

Update: she had her surgery yesterday morning and we was discharged from the hospital today at 3:00 pm. The first day all she did was sleep and cry a little when she woke up. She refused to let anyone touch her which was understandable. Once we got home she become my goofy little girl again. Right at this moment she is dancing to Barney Songs. I just wanted to let future moms in similar situations my expirence with the surgery. I will warn everyone that if your child gets tubes in they may (I'm not sure if its for all cases) perscribe ear drops. My daughter screams when we put the ear drops in, Im hoping she gets used to them because she has a few days left on them

Thank you so much for posting this. My daughter (16 months old) is getting her tonsils and adenoids removed Thursday and I'm just so worried and scared. So I heard that a few days after the surgery it is really painful for them, was that the case with your daughter? I'm so glad to hear she was feeling soon so soon after. It gives me hope.
