16 & pregnant

Wow, hon. I feel for you. I guess the thing to do is get your thoughts straight. Write them down if you have to. Does the father of the baby know? What does he want to do? Do YOU want to keep the baby? I'm not saying abortion, but adoption is a great option. There are a lot of couples out there who cannot conceive who would give your baby a loving home. If you want to keep the baby, do you think you'll get support from the father? Or, are you pretty sure you'll be on your own raising him/her? Your mom will probably ask the same questions. It will be emotional, so don't hold it against her if she gets angry or upset. She will get over it, and move on to help you out. Try to catch her in a good mood.
All you can do is tell your mom is the truth.
But, you need to tell her ASAP so you can get to the doctor and get checked out. You need to start taking prenatal vitamins right away(for your health and the baby's), and do everything the doctor tells you. Also eat healthy-it makes a big difference. i.e. lots of fruits and veggies, very little junk food, fast food, etc. That will also ensure you don't gain tons of weight. Babies don't weigh more than 10 lbs, so the rest is all you. :)
I wish you luck!
