I have a 17 year old grand-daughter and she is out of hand. She is infatuated with a 30 some year old that is mean to her. She has watched his daughter since she has been 6 months old, (now 5). He is a free-loaded and has free room and board, free babysitter and does nothing to make up for it. My daughter allows him to stay there. He use to be my daughters best friend. All my grand-children have been put on medicine. Can you help?

Sometimes people need to make their own mistakes. It's difficult and painful to not be able to do anything... but even the worst disasters can make people stronger and wiser in the end. Be a resource for your grand daughter. Help her to make good choices when she is ready. Support her in the positive things she does when she does them. Very few people get through their teens and early twenties without a few bad choices and less than ideal love interests, but most do sort it out eventually. You can't force a teen to do much, but you can be a positive influence and set a good example in their life even when others are not.
