Hi my son is 18-19 months old and doesn't say very much only a few things like, mamma, daddy, no, yay, spongebob, kitty but even these aren't spoken very clearly. Should i be worried? He understands what im saying and can preform tasks i ask him to do, but he can sometimes be very ignorant too. I read to him and chat to him, his sister was speaking by 14 months and could say sentences by this age :/ any advice or suggestions?

This seems pretty normal. If he can understand what you are saying, that shows signs he is doing well. Not all kids speak by 14 months. Don't compare your kid with others. It will drive you nuts and make you feel like you are inadequate. My daughter is 2 1/2 and talks but not awesome. They all go at their own pace. If you are that concerned, speak with your pediatrician, and they can have him evaluated to see if he needs speech therapy. From the kids I know in that age range, your child is right at par.
