My son is 19months old and I'm having trouble getting him to sleep through the night. He gets a cup of milk before bed and goes to bed with a binkie, and yet every night, no matter how tired he is he wakes up about 3AM crying, a lot of the times I have to lay down with him to get him to go back to sleep. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions???

Try getting him to go to sleep without the milk. Maybe when he wets his diaper it is waking him up. Also, try tiring him out physically.

Oh thank you ladies.
I wish that those suggestions would've helped...lol I've already tried those things... we bought a cd that has classical music for babies that has a heart beat in the background... I've tried various stuffed animals, they just end up on the floor. He does have a night light..... I've tried letting him cry but he is so persistent. He's cried to the point he's made himself sick and has cried for 3hrs! He screams and cried until I come into his room....We even bought him a toddler bed thinking maybe if he felt like a big boy he would act like it... didn't help. I cut him down to one nap a day hoping it would tire him out, but he sti;; wakes up in the middle of the night....

Hi Casandra
try to play soft music throughout the night and leave a soft light on in the room

I know its hard to do at 3AM because you are tired yourself but you might have to let him cry for a bit.He doesn't know how to put himself back to sleep because he never has to. I find having a stuffed animal in bed with my daughter helps her because it's like she isn't all alone when she wakes up and its all dark and scary.
