My 2 month old is not falling asleep on her own anymore unless I'm holding her . If I try to put her down in her bassinet after she is asleep on my chest and she wakes up and starts to cry. I'm not one to let my baby cry it out this young... Am I doing the right thing here ? Neither one of us are getting much sleep... Any other mommies struggling with this or have in the past ?

Because of the "Back to sleep campaign to end SIDS" you are gong to be told to put baby down on her back until she is older and can roll herself. Talk to your doctor, he may give you the ok. Also, have you tried swaddling? I think babies like sleeping on their belly as their arms don't flop around, so try swaddling and know that you only have a month or two until baby can turn over on her own.

My son slept upright on his belly on me while I was propped upright in the middle of my bed every night for the first 5 months of his life. It was the only way we both slept.

Is she falling asleep on her tummy while laying on your chest?
I know it's not recommended but 2 out of my 3 were tummy sleepers. I would be lucky to get 20mins sleep with them on their back but would 3-4 hours on their tummy.
