2 year old chewing nails?

I've noticed recently that my daughter (who just turned two this month) has been chewing on her nails. (I'm sure she picked up on it from me) It is very recently that I noticed, the last few days, and today I saw that her nails were jagged and needed to be trimmed.
We also just moved and we're about to go on vacation (plane ride) and she has handled the move VERY well, and while I don't think it's a contributing factor, I know it's possible that it is.

How can I deter her from doing this? Would bitter tasting nail polish be safe at this age?

If you do it then she will follow your lead. I am not one to put anything on a kid because you never know how they could react to it. It could end up being a ER visit. You can try redirecting her to something else that doesn't bother you for her to chew on. I have teething rings for my 6 r. old because she chews everything and I mean everything. We found out she does it because it release pressure off her head and ears.

But you also have to stop chewing your nails as well. The saying Monkey see Monkey do is true. Good luck.
