2 year old pulling off his diaper....I have a pull up on...should I try and start potting training

Sounds like he might be ready. It is messy to do this, but let him go buck naked...they don't like how it feels. But like I said, gets messy. Also, have him pick out some big boy undies for himself.

I know the advice for no diapers/no pull ups is common advice, but since my son potty trained himself in diapers.... it still bugs me. ;) EVERY kid is different and you have to figure out what works best for your particular kid.

For my girls... it was being naked cuz they had 100% success right from the beginning as long as they were naked. Any types of bottoms on them and it wasn't so pretty. I used pull ups, but even after the pull ups... they had occasional wettings/dampenings for 5 years.

My son, on the other hand, was 100% potty trained for about a month before I could ever get him to even try wearing underwear. He's been fully trained for about a year and has only ever had half a dozenish MINOR accidents and one wet bed.

We let our boys run around naked in the summer time. It really helps them feel the urges to have to go rather than having that padding on.

Well if you think they are ready all diapers and/or pull ups need to be used only for night only and they need to be put in underwear all day everyday no matter how many accidents they have. So just make sure you are ready for this because once you start there is no going back.

I would attempt it, and see how he goes. If he is not ready and can't control his bladder, he will likely not like it and be willing to wear the nappy again.
