After being scared of the toilet, all of a sudden my just turned 2 year old son decided the potty was fun. SO fun that he doesn't want to get off it - ever. I don't want to pull him off it if he's about to poop or anything. But should I set a timer or something to let him know it's been long enough? How long?

My son kid this too, he just found the potty fascinating. I would sometimes take a book with me and let him sit there for a little while (10-20 minutes). Other times I would say something like wow, the bathroom is interesting today. I thought we'd be playing.......by now. I would talk about whatever activity he had been excited to do that day. He would look at me and realize he was missing the fun and we'd be out of the bathroom.

It wasn't an argument worth making for me because it was only once a day. If he was set on sitting there, then he could sit there. It only took him about a month, maybe less, to decide it really wasn't that fun anymore.

put a egg timer om the sink and when it dings it's time to get off for another half hour an do it again.if he;s not doing anything it's attention he seeks make sure for a little while he gets a bunch oh it from ya outside the bathroom.have a smartie for reward on hand and only give them when he does something in the pottie.good luck,

My son was similar at 2 years. But was also fully trained in 4 weeks. He will eventually grow out of this is just coz it's something new for him.. Hope he continues to be a lil man and continues toilet trainin

it is kinda funny. he sits and tinkles a bit [he sits backwards on it because it's just how he climbed up there. ??] then flushes then talks to himself about bubbles and pee going bye bye. then...tinkles more, flushes aGAIN. I think instead of time I may go for a three flush limit. I have to pay for my water. :)

Daddy told him he didn't have to wipe - argh - but to shake instead. So he's sitting backwards on the potty and hopping up and down. Silly little guy. At least he's going, I guess.

Lol, cute! My son likes to throw things in ours, and then flush it. Or just flush the toilet because the water goes down. I wish he would sit on it and use it!

My Son has done this a few times. His favorite thing it's the tp, so I have taken the tp with me, so he doesn't use the whole roll, then walk out of the bathroom (keeping a close eye on him). He gets board by himself and nothing to do, while I'm not sitting there watching him, so he gets down and joins me after just a few minutes
