I need help with my 2 year old. (will be 3 in August) For a long time she hasn't slept through the night. I use to rock her before bed but now I recline in the chair with her until she falls asleep then I put her in her crib. She always wakes up in the night sometimes right away crying for me and I have to lay with her in the chair usually I end up there most of the night. She will not settle down for my husband, she only wants me. It seems to be getting worse.I just don't know what I can do to get her go to sleep and stay asleep and me get sleep too. My patience is wearing then and my eating habits are out of control and I'm struggling to not overeat but everyday I seem to fail at some point.

Sometimes I do put her bed with us but the last time I did that she flip flopped around so much we both ended up better off sleeping in the chair. We are going to take down her crib and put her mattress on the floor and hopefully we can get into a new routine where she won't need me to stay asleep. In the next month we are getting a bunk bed for her and my 9 year old daughter so hopefully that will help as well. The lack of sleep I was having was causing me to eat more during the day but I'm doing better on that now. Thank you for your advise!

Not sure how the eating is related to the sleeping.. But, I'm pretty sure this is just a stage. All kids go through this multiple times while they're little. My 2-yr-old daughter (turning 3 next month also) is also waking at night. For a long time she was sleeping fine. Now usually wakes up crying at night. I just allow her to come to our bed and we both go back to sleep. Easy. My 5-yr-old did the same thing at that age. It doesn't last forever. They grow out of it on their own.
