I have a 2 and a half yr old son who keeps pooping on my floors and even plays in it sometimes and have tried everything and dont know what to do? He will even go in the bathroom take off his pants in front of the potty then go poop in another room on the floor and either pick it up with his hands and put it in the potty, or play in it, or go back nd sit on the potty and say yay I poopy on potty. Any suggestions???

I wish you the best of luck I have a 19 month old little girl who pooped on the floor and rubed it into the rug so bad we had to roll it up and toss it. We have put tape on her diapers but she knows how to get that off so while I am home with our new baby she has to wear her pjs and we have to put a couple layers of tape on them or she gets that off as well so if you find out something that works let me know please.

I had that problem with my oldest, who is now 8. My doctor suggested that I make her responsible for her actions by having her clean it up. It worked.

Is this only with boys? I have a couple friends with daughters and they have never done this! all my friends with boys have! My son is now 3 1/2 and is fully potty trained. When he was 2, he would do this. I think even at 3. I hated this with all my soul and I noticed he would do this because he didn't wanna take a nap. He never did it outside his room, but when he would go poo in his room, damn was it everywhere! inside his trucks, under the bed! I got so angry that I hired a cleaning lady because I was sick of cleaning that up! and then go back to my normal chores? HECK NO! Anyhow, after taking away everything he likes and eating icecream in front of him and not giving him any, he got the point! He saw me crying a couple times because I was so frustrated and he said, "I sawwy Mama"...so mabye he felt bad..lol..idk.

Is there a step in front of the toilet? My daughter did the same thing but much younger. What she wanted was to start using the toilet. As soon as I put the step there and the potty seat on- she was done. Just a thought

OMG! my son did this to me last summer!!!! Everyday for a week and a half, sometimes he would do this twice a day. he would poop in his room and basically finger paint his room with it. I shampood his carpet every time and It got old. I eventually made him clean it up. I would give him a rag and basically felt like a drill sargent standing right over him making him scrub his poop off his walls and furniture. and then it was to the bathtub to do the same. I eventually started taping his diapers so he couldn't get to the flaps and made sure the seam was in the back so he couln't take the tape off and luckily he grew out of it. so good luck I know how frusterated you are.....oh murphy's oil soap is the best for cleaning.

Good Luck! My son is 2 1/2 too and he does the same thing. Yesterday while I was trying to make meatloaf he walked into the kitchen with a handful of poop saying "I pee, I pee". I've tried everything from rewards to threats and he still does it. I can't even put him in a diaper because he just takes it off to play with it when he's finished. Sorry I can't help.
