Ever since Teddy was 7 months old he went to sleep by himself in his crib. He would even look forward to being put in it. I would simply put him in, say goodnight, turn the light out and close the door.
3 nights ago he woke up and would not go back to sleep. We left him to cry himself back to sleep but it mustve been the wrong this to do. He screamed and screamed. I asked him what was wrong he said something about a dog. That night he ended up in our bed.
Ever since that we have had to get him to sleep either by patting him or staying right beside him. He literally is terrified to go into his crib, clings on to us etc, He even climbed up and out a few times in desperation not to stay in there. Even if we creep out of his room he wakes up and screams.
I am sure it's a result of a nightmare but have no idea how to deal with it.
I want him to go to sleep the way he always has. Do I give in and let him into our bed?
Any advice??? Please!
