20 month old picky eater

My son will eat Ramon noodles, pizza, candy, penut butter sandwich, toast only with butter, and any baby food. I've tried everything to get him to eat what we eat but he won't! If I put it in his mouth he sits with his mouth open and cries/screams. I thought at first it was the texture but he eats pizza. I tried leaving him in the high chair until he ate, but nothing, so of course I had to give him baby food, I can't starve him! People are saying just give him food, if he don't eat then he don't eat, eventually he will get hungry and eat it. I can't do that! Please help!

It takes some kids many years to acquire the taste of all foods ...some it may never happen but just sitting food in front of him and tell him to eat it is not all way the best approach I have found with my experience of having three kids who are all picky eater in there own way ...that u need to build on what the do eat and just keep adding on to it. Like on of my kids loved Mac n cheese and hot dogs that all he ever want so I started to change it with adding veggies at and then I would add different things like meat hamburger or tuna . Same with the pizza ..u can get cook book that will help u hides more good foods in the foods the all ready eat?.Jerry sinfields wife wrote one and eventually they will eat almost everything it just takes time dont rush him he will eventually eat more they all do?
