My little man is 21 month old and wont fall asleep without his soother, and when he wakes up in the middle of the night and cant find it he wont go back asleep until he gets it!

he is starting to chew on the soothers a lot and will rip big holes in the sides of them within days of a new soother, so its now to the point that 1. im not gonna spend that kind of money to replace them every couple days, and 2. its now really not safe for him to have them anymore.

Time to take him off and quick!! i need help cause hes very stubborn, its his sleeping aid (as hes not attached to stuffy's and kinda attached to his blanket but i know it wont do)

PLEASE HELP as im dreading this weekend of whats to come.

I dont blame you, its murder to hear them cry, but kids know that!! he knows you will come in and find his soother for him. When we took away the bottle (my son never like pacifiers) I let him cry for a few min. then a little longer the next time. He stopped before he hit the 10 min. mark, it could be worth trying, and if it doesnt work for you tape it to his hand! lol

Im not a big fan of the crying it out theory plus hes not a big sleeper as it is, ever since he was born its been like that, almost like "sleep is for the weak" lol.

i do let him cry and whine when i put him down for bed (as it still takes up to a hour for him to decide to fall asleep) but i wont let him full on cry for long periods of time.
