I read it suppose to close by 24 months. But my child is almost 27 months and still slightly open. He has no abnormalities he is growing normal. I have had other moms that said their child's soft spot didn't close until their child was around 29 months. Please help. Is this normal?

Well my daughter is 5 and honestly I can't remember! My son is only 3.5 months old, so he obviously still has one. But, honestly, this is normal. I wouldn't fret over it. :)

I wouldn't worry about it but if it's bothering you I'd just ask the doctor at one his routine check ups.

Thank you so much moms. At his checkup they gave me mixed feelings. The nurse scared me and said he might need a Cat Scan and that it should of closed by 24 months no later. Then when I asked the Doctor he said it could be normal. The nurse had me so scared. If you don't mind me asking, When did you notice the soft spot on top of the head was completely gone? Right now his is the size of half my fingertip.

Yep. Totally normal. Every baby develops and grows differently. The fontanel stays "open" (meaning the cranium hasn't completely fused together) until a child is nearly 20 years of age. For some kids that gap between the cranial plates is larger than others. I wouldn't worry about it. :)
