Hi all, I have a 2 mos old baby girl who was born 37 weeks but had many complications at birth (omphalocele, ASD, and severe breathing problems) she was on the vent, vapotherm then a regular nasal cannula which we took her home on at 6 weeks. 10 days later we had to readmit her to the hospital for breathing distress (lots of retracting and breathing around 80 times a minute). After doing another scope ENT discovered she has severe laryngomalacia. We decided to go through with the trach. Drs say she will most likely grow out of it between 1-2 years. My biggest concern is that I won't be able to hear her cry at night, does anyone have advice on that? Also what about care and traveling? We have two other kids a 4 and 5 year old how can we help them cope with the situation?
