My son had constipation at that age too. Call the doctor for advice first! He probably has colic which is very common. The way you feed your son is up to you but be prepared for people to question how you are feeding all the time and lectures.

I wound up using WalMart's http://www.walmart.com/ip/Equate-Infants... after talking with the doctor and finding out what dose to use. He had colic until about 5 months.

Let me say that of course, the choice is yours, but I think you'll benefit from info. There is so much misinformation about breastfeeding. I really do think that the formula is causing the lack of pooping because a 2 week old baby should still be pooping, whether breastfed or formula.

Low supply. What is low supply and what is NOT low supply. Moms look at the wrong things to judge supply

Why babies will take a bottle, and why this does NOT mean low supply

Like I said in my previous post, you're only 2 weeks in. If you want to continue breastfeeding, it's VERY important for all feedings to take place at the breast. This will help supply come in. Watch diapers. Enough diapers means baby is getting enough.

You don't have to stop breastfeeding because you have to go back to work. Do you have a pump? If not, you can do both. You can nurse when you're together and formula when you're at work.

What you describe is not low supply. But supplementing can cause low supply because your body isn't getting the stimulation it needs to make more milk. The best thing to do to ditch the formula into nurse as often as you can. You're still early in the game. The best way to determine if you have enough is by diaper Count. If you're getting 6 to 8 diapers
your milk is fine. I will post some links later. I have to go get meds for my son

Wish I could...I have to go back to work so I need for him to get used to the formula....plus I have a feeling my milk is not enough, cause he has been drinking two bottles plus my breast milk.

It might be the formula. Can you go back to nursing only? Breastmilk is a natural laxative.

More info please! Breastfed? Bottle fed? Is baby pooping at all? What's the consistency? Hard pellets?
