I found with my third child that he was just overstimulated during the day and once his brothers were in bed it was like he had a crying streak because he was overwhelmed. So I changed how the evenings went with the older kids. Only calm interactions, calm music, bathtime then brush teeth then jammmies, book and prayers Big brothers can be overwhelming to a baby, so teach them to act gently and calmly with the baby. This book has clever ideas for some calm evening activities http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1588150... Once I calmed the whole house down in the evening the baby was much more relaxed at the end of the day too. Also, once brothers were in bed, I spent some undivided baby attention time. After evening feeding and burping. I would get him ready for bed. Then He loved the football hold (google it) I would hold him this way and gently rock, then a 5 minute baby massage helped him calm too. Then I always put him down before he was totally asleep. He would fuss a bit, rub his nose in the crib then fall asleep on his own. At first I had rocked him in a rocking chair to sleep but found that the rocking chair actually upset him. Dont use feeding to calm... if you know she has recently been fed then try massage or walking in football hold to calm her. One more thing, be careful what YOU eat if you are nursing her. God Bless Genesis! Download some of your favorite slow songs to listen to when your sweet little baby girl just needs to fuss. It will help you stay peaceful.
