We followed my 3 1/2 year old daughter's favorite pre-school teacher from a large daycare/preschool to her new home daycare about 2 months ago. The first month was great! However, this is the 3rd week my daughter has woke up in the morning crying, "I don't want to go to school!". She screams and clings to me when I drop her off, and the provider tells me L won't eat and cries at snack and mealtime. She's asking me if something has changed at home and we're asking the same of her. We're all scratching our heads. L is there 3 days a week and is absolutely normal/fine at other times. When we ask L about why she's so upset, we get varied answers from "I miss Mommy" to "I want to eat out of a bowl, not a plate" to "So-and-so (another student) is mean to me." We could pull her out and find a new center but I want to be sure the problem is with the daycare and not my child; otherwise, we'll just encounter more of the same but with people who don't know L yet. How do I get to the bottom of this?
