3 year old has trouble pooping!

My 3 year old son is having a hard time with pooping, since he's been potty trained a few months ago. He seems to hold it in as long as possible.. Then it's painful for him when he really has to go. We've tried all kinda of good with added fiber, etc. But he's still having a hard time! We have a doctors appointment coming up, but maybe someone has a tip or has been through this same situation?

I've been through this.

Lots of fluids, lots of fiber, and you may have to stay with him while he poops until it feels better for him to go.

I had to hold my daughters hand, give her music, even something to drink, because once they decide to get off the pot, its going to be a tantrum to get them back on. And we don't want them carrying around poop for a week!

Dr will probably perscribe Miralax, or prune juice, etc.. tell you to eliminate cheese, depending on how bad it is.

Once our babies little butts are sore from dry poop (the longer they hold it in the more dry it gets and then it hurts to push out), it can take weeks to heal, took my daughter about 6 months to totally heal because it seemed to start over after a few months of going good.

God Bless.
