My son has been getting some type of virus where it's causing him to throw up everything he's eaten only at night. During the day he's fine, active, and wants to eat...but when it's time to go to bed, he always complaining that his stomach hurt and then starts throwing up, even if it's been hours since he's eaten. He isn't running any temps and doesn't have any problem with bowel movements when he has to go.
It started Tues 3/27 while he was at daycare and I thought maybe it was something he ate and sent him to school again on Wed 3/28 only to have them call me right back because he had a fever and was throwing up. Nevertheless, I doctored him back to health and he was fine...so I thought...So again Wed 4/4 it started again, this time no temp just throwing up & sometimes bowel movements and has been happening every night since then. I'm trying to be very careful in what I feed him but he is an EXTREME picky eater!
I'm giving him popsicles, crackers, water, juice, and then if he feels like eating or continues to demand some food, I have given him hot dogs & ramen noodles, chicken nuggets & fries, which he just throws right up at night. The only thing he managed to keep down and was okay with was Thursday night 4/5: 2 drums & 2 helpings of red beans & rice from Popeyes. I haven't given him any milk and has tried to stay away from cheese.
What do you suggest I give him & do you think I might need to take him to the doctor?
