I'm 32 weeks pregnant and have pains on my left thigh and waist when I sleep with my left side. Also very difficult to turn or get up when I'm sleeping or just seating. What might the problem be?

It sounds exactly like sciatica- the baby sits on the sciatic nerve and it can be very painful. It's super common. Try sleeping on your other side, stretching, walks..... drink plenty of water too.

I am glad that you sort medical advice and that the source of the pain has been identified and that you are much better now. Hope you have an uneventful rest of pregnancy and have a good arrival of your new baby.

Hi moms. Thanks for the advise. I saw my gynecologist and she says its was too much pressure excreted because of the weight of the baby and the distance I walk. I now have to reduce walking. I got a good massage though which helped alot. Much better now. Thanks.

sorry to scare you Cece, I didn't mean to. Certainly sounds like something along the lines of a trapped nerve, but still doesn't harm getting checked out just to be on the safe side. By talking to a doctor/nurse it means that you can get the medical advice/treatment that you need.

Can you just call your doc today and talk to them on the phone? They'll probably tell you it's sciatica, or if you need to make an apt. Don't feel silly for calling their nurse line- that's what they are there for.

Certainly talk to your midwife, and get checked out to rule out anything serious. I'm wondering if it could be a trapped nerve? You really need to talk to your midwife/doctor to make sure that it isn't anything serious.
