be careful with the tums, apparently people who gobble them while pregnant can end up with kidney stones from the calcium!

Have you tried eating some plain protein type meals? I find if I can make myself eat some scrambled eggs or something it really helps settle my stomach. I have also found that eating pasta or rice etc only makes the heartburn worse. I find I can eat Indian, and bolognese sauces etc, but not the rice/pasta/potato/naan that goes with those foods. This is because they have a high phytic acid content. It seems odd because we do tend consider these foods the plainer ones, but sometimes these are the ones causing the problem.

Im not a big fan of milk either, unless it has strawberry flavoring in it. Lol. Do you think that the strawberry flavoring is causing my heartburn?

Have you tried drinking the milk warm with some honey?? That helped my heartburn a lot during pregnancy. But I do know that milk doesn't work for everyone. I actually know someone who had it worse every time she drank milk. But you can try the warm milk with honey and see if it helps. Another great heartburn remedy is apple cider vinegar. It has to be the pure, unfiltered, unpasteurized kind. The cloudy stuff. You can find it in the health food section at some grocery stores, if you have a Kroger or Frys where you live. Or a health food store would definitely have it. All you need is 1-2 Tablespoons per day, and it's pretty nasty so I add it to a cup of hot water with a splash of apple juice, a sprinkle of cinnamon, and a little honey. You can put it in cold juice as well, but I think heating it masks the vinegar flavor really well and it tastes just like hot apple cider! And if you go the route of using hot water with a splash of juice, as opposed to a whole cup of juice, you're still watching your sugar intake. If you're really brave, you can just take the couple Tbls of apple cider vinegar straight, but I do NOT recommend this, especially if you have a strong gag reflex! :)

i had crazy heartburn when i was pregnant! it probably sounds really gross, but towards the end of my pregnancy i was drinking like two litres of milk a day. it had to be straight out of the fridge cold, but i was the only thing that seemed to help. i couldnt get enough! lol and im not normally one to drink milk. good luck in finding what works for you, i know how horrible it can be :)
