3rd birthday party for a boy

My son will be 3 in a month and we are looking for some inexpensive ways to celebrate. We live in a small condo, so a home party is out of the question. The Children's museum and the Jump Castle place are out of our price range... any creative ideas?

We did my son's third birthday at our local firehouse. They gave us a room to eat whatever food/cake we brought. Then they showed the kids the engines. They got to get up in them and they dressed the birthday boy up in a miniature firesuit. So much fun! They do it for a donation, so you pay what you can afford.

McD's, Chick-fil-A, Burger King... we have been to parties at all three of these places. They are inexpensive and fun. I don't know how big of a party you are going to have but this is fun for the kids if they have a play land area.

We have all Dec. birthdays so we do a half year bday party for all of our kids in July.

We thought about a park since we live in Charleston, SC but the weather is so "iffy" that time of year. last year it was 45 degrees with sleet...

I don't know where you live...so would a park be out of the question? I guess it would all depend on the weather.
