So my husband and I are considering having a third child. We have a 2.5 year old son and a 19-month-old daughter (they are 12 months apart, our daughter came as quite a surprise!). Our kids are a total team, for which we are grateful beyond belief. They love each other, play together and don't like to be apart.
Therein lies the dilemma! My husband wants us (eh-hem, me!) to get pregnant soon, so that our kids will be 3 and 2 years old when the third baby is born. He thinks that if they're all close in age, they'll stay a team.
However, I'm also concerned about, well, all hell breaking loose!! We both work full-time, and while my job has flexible hours and we are EXTRAORDINARILY lucky to be able to each work from home one day a week, it is barely manageable to keep up with my job as it is.
The question is: do we wait for our kids to be 4 or 5 to have a third, which could be more manageable but might risk the third child feeling left out? Or do we do it now, and have them closer in age but risk total chaos? What have your experiences been???
(P.S. Both of our kids will be in preschool come September, so waiting for them to be school-aged won't be a concern.)
