4 month old suddenly not wanting to sleep in his crib?

Alright, so I have a 4 month old baby boy. For a while we were settled nicely into a bedtime routine. I would wash him up, change, nurse, rock and then put him in his crib. He would be in bed and sleep between 9/10:00/
However, just recently everytime I put him in his crib for the night, he wakes up and starts screaming until someone is back with him, or until we take him out. I get him back to sleep, and try again but it continues, until finally I bring him in my bed and he falls asleep instantly. By this time, it's about 11:30/12:00...
I don't want him to get used to sleeping in our bed, but right now it's the only way either of us are getting sleep at night.

If anyone has any ideas/suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated..

Yah, i think you're right about him realizing i'm not there. He will scream in his crib until we go back in his room. After a few tries, i brought him in our bed and he passed right out. So lastnight i let him fall asleep in our bed and when he was really asleep, i moved him to his crib, and that seemed to work. I will also try the shirt idea and see if that helps him at all. I had to stop swaddling him a while ago.. he wiggles and wiggles to get out and it just makes him mad.

He's probably getting old enough to realize you are not there and it scares the crap out of him. At that age, if he can't see you, you don't exist. I kept my daughter in a bassinet beside my bed until she was around 6 mos old. You could also try swaddling him?...
