We co-slept for the first few months of my daughter's life but we did it a little different. We bought a second changing pad where the sides curve up and used it as a mini mattress in our bed and put up a guard rail so she was super safe and elevated. We moved her to her crib (at our bedside still and using the angel breathing monitor) 2 months ago and she still sleeps on the pad in her crib. Even though "they" say not to have anything in the crib we tuck blankets (one breathable on the bottom and regular baby blanket on top of that) under her mattress so theyre tight and straight across her. She has NEVER once been able or tried to move the blankets over her and we keep them at chest level. SO NOW, she's 5 1/2 months and just learned to roll over so were going have to get rid of the mattress and I can't have the blankets in there anymore. She loves having them and I want to keep her warm because we sleep with a fan and our room naturally gets chilly. She hates sleep sacks and I don't want her in one anyway since she can roll. Does anyone have an ideas or experience with this? Are breathable blankets ok for them to sleep with? She also has a little lamb baby she falls asleep with over her eyes and I take it away right when she falls asleep cause I'm nervous about that in her crib with her. Is a "baby" or lamb type animal safe to sleep with either at this age? Thanks for your advice!
