5 year old won't sleep through the night

My 5 year old never sleeps through the night. He was coming into my room and waking me, and no matter how many times I brought him back to his own room, he'd just keep coming. Now he has learned to sneak in and climb into my bed without waking me. Anybody have any suggestions on how we can both get a good nights sleep in our own beds?

My 5 year old has severe eczema and never sleeps through the night. She usually wakes up every night crying and scratching . It's horrible. She always starts screaming and then wakes up her little brother. In the middle of the night when I'm tired, I want to strangle her. It's difficult to keep my temper under control. If she doesn't go right back to sleep, I give her Benadryl. I've heard Melatonin or Liquid Calcium Magnesium could also help.

Well, first off.....I would cut out the afternoon nap if he still takes one. And maybe giving him some sort of warm, stick-to-your-ribs oatmeal before bed. That helped to fill my boys belly and make him sleepier, since we tended to have supper in the early evening. Or, maybe he is simply having nightmares and just feels safer in your bed. :)
