My 5 yo son was asked to not come to day camp tomorrow because of bad behavior, spitting, hitting, etc. This means missing a day of work for me. I have talked to him about the disappointment and anger I am feeling right now. I'm really trying to stay calm because I know yelling and a spanking isn't going to work. He was been sent to his room for the evening except for dinner and will be spending tomorrow cleaning or in his room as well. Any thoughts of what else I can do? I can't afford to miss any more days and this behavior has to stop.

This happen to me to the way to deal with it is simple cicoligy the first step is making sure he is aware that he did something wrong and that he was bad then discuss what he could of done that was better choice after you did those steps reward him for a wile for his good behavior untill he knows not to be bad anymore

See the behaviour as an expression. He can't necesarily commicate his frustrations verbally, coherently and logically. Put your anger aside and just be with him, after a while ask him about school & what is happening there,You need to try to encourage him to open up & express without feeling like you will get angry. There might be an emotional frustation underlying it all. It might take a bit of patience though.
