Hello,

My 6 month old is refusing breast milk from a bottle. Mom has been out of the house for 4 hours now. He instantly pushes it away. The weird thing is that he used to take the bottle fine when mom was working. Now that he has been breastfeeding for 2 months he won't try the bottle. He previously used doc browns. We tried mam recently because he likes their binkies. He instantly pushes both types away. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
John

Had to drive to moms work 🙁. He cried the whole way. Does anyone have any tips for getting a baby to take a bottle?

Aw... honestly if bringing him to nurse w/ mom is a viable option that is what 'I' would do. Well, I am a mom, so that is what 'I' would want. ;)

Thanks for the reply Dove. Mom is working for another 4 hours. We could go pay her a visit at work but we're trying to transition to formula. We haven't tried mixing it in yet since he won't even take 100% breast milk from the bottle. I will try a sippy cup now.

Thanks again.

Is mom coming home soon? Do you have any sippy cups? Sometimes baby will take a sippy cup when he/she won't take a bottle.

If that doesn't work and you are starting to get worried you can always try to get a bit of milk in him using a medicine syringe. Most babies will eventually take a bottle if they get hungry enough, but some babies will not... even if it's been 8 hours (my friend's son was one of those).
