Hey ya'll, My baby has been waking up about 3-4 times a night for the past almost week now. I thought it might be a growth spurt, but I wouldn't think it could last this long. Then I thought it might be her milestone of crawling, but how long will this waking go on for, if thats the case? She has two bottom teeth almost fully out, but they have been coming in for a while. I'm still nursing her, but I can't keep feeding her so many times each night because I am exhausted, and I feel that it will become a habit for her. I don't want to deny her if she is indeed hungry, but I don't feel she is. I try and sooth her other ways, but she will cry and scream until I feed her. Has anyone ever gone through this, and if so, I need help!

I always fed on demand, I know it's probably not what you want to hear but I wasn't going to spend 30 minutes trying to get my daughter back to sleep only to end up feeding her in the end, when I could just feed her and go back to sleep.

Yes it could be a growth spurt, yes it could be crawling, or it could be she has another tooth starting to come in. Sleep patterns that are interrupted because of milestones continue to be interrupted until your little one masters that. My daughters sleep patterns were greatly impacted when she was teething, she would be up every 40-50 minutes on her really bad nights and I was was working 50+ hours each week but she always went back to her regular sleep once she got her new tooth.

Amy,

What you said is actually what i was glad to hear! It really gives me encouragement knowing that even though you would breastfeed your daughter on demand, (which I'm doing at night too, very sleepily, sometimes frustrated) she would always go back to her regular sleep routine. It's hard, but knowing that another mom went through this, and things eventually got better gives me hope!

Thank you!
