can someone help me out? my 6yr old daughter has been complaining of headaches since last Fri. But they would go away on their own. Well monday she had a horable headache, and then by 530 p ran a temp of 101. she missed school tue and wed(today) due to fevers. tues night she spiked a fever of 103.6. and with the help of some tylenol, it came back down to 101. and today her temps is normal...98.6....and just a slight headache. my mom said she is wondering if there is a chance it could be 6yr old molars? do they still get teeth coming in at this age other then their big teeth? she hasnt lost any teeth yet so could this be a possibility for her headaches and fever? i know its cold and flu season, but she has no pains anywhere other then her head and then she was saying this morning when she chews her jaw hurts

when my daughter got ear infections she would always say her ears hurt. her dr is an excellent dr, and unless she feels the child needs to be seen they wont see her, they dont want to risk her catching more, esp if it turns into her having maybe just the fever/headache bug thats going around. but if its nothing but maybe teeth, i dont want to risk taking her to the dr's to catch more either

They do get 6 year molars, but I've never heard of teething to cause headaches and fevers like that.

I wouldn't doubt that it's the headache and fever bug going around. My whole family had something similar (one right after the other) back in October. It was brutal. I ran a fever off and on for 5 days before it finally broke for good.

oh they do... i think my 8 yo may be growing more teeth... but to let you know, my 7yo stepdaughter has had HORRIBLE HORRIBLE ear infections and NEVER once did she say her EARS hurt, she complained of head aches. I don't know what doctor wouldn't want to see a child with a fever.... that sounds AWFUL!

dr told me there is something going around with just a fever and a headache she hasnt had any ear infections since she was 3 and the dr didnt want to see her unless her throat or ears hurt, and neither of them hurt she said when she chews her cheeks hurt, and she said she can feel *lines* in her gums on the top gum lines and nothing on the bottom. i didnt know if they got more teeth at 6 or not, other then their adult teeth after losing baby teeth

sinus infections and ear infections can cause headaches and fever.... have you taken her to the doctor?
