My 6 year old has a really bad attitude. how can i make her stop. she has a really back attitude to me and her grandmother, shes fine to her dad and other people, i dont understand why. i dont want to keep getting mad at her because i feel its making it worse. What can i do?

I agree with the others. You need to up the ante here. What is her 'currency'? What does she like to do? Play with dolls? be outdoors? Whatever it is, take it away. Tell her that, when she can act appropriately with EVERYONE, she may have the privilege back.

So start issuing other consequences. Remove privileges until she can be polite.

She is just really snotty to me and her grandmother. it doesn't matter the time of day or what we are doing. she always has a bad attitude towards us. but if her dad or someone else walks in the room she is completely fine with them.

ive tried putting her in her room but she shares with her sister and she sat in there one day for almost the entire day and it did nothing and it kept her sister from being in there. i don't know what else to do, ive tried ignoring her until she can speak to me nicely but nothing does the trick.

What is she doing?

If you do not like her attitude tell her she needs to hang out in her room until she can (do whatever it is you want from her... be specific, so she understands). If she will not go to her room you calmly walk her there. She can act anyway she wants in her own room, but when she is out and about w/ other people she needs be respectful. If she can't handle that... she must need a rest or a break in her room.

We all have bad days and we all have bad attitudes at times... that is perfectly normal. The 'trick' is learning to control our attitudes around other people.
