My daughter was 3 when she was raped by her 9 year old cousin (who turned 10 7 months later) She never made an outcry...I didn't find out about the incident until 12/26/13, the boy was caught assulting his 2 year old sister. I immediately notified the police who then informed me of the State laws in Texas prohibiting me from pressing charges or pursuing any legal action. I then notified cps, which interviewed my daughter and told me nothing could be done because she didn't remember the incident. They even told me not to worry with therapy. No tests were ran to see if there was eternal damage or anything, even though I informed them of her many uti's and her severe bladder infection the same year she was assulted. Flash forward to today...the pedifile now lives with his mother who has 3 other small children he has assulted and my daughter has another uti. She is in therapy, however she still has not mentioned any abuse and I will not press a memory that doesnt exist. I am extremely frustrated because it seems like there is no help for my daughter...and I just want to do everything in my power to help her in the future. Today, while in the ER the triage nurse suggested I see her primary care doctor, inform him of the situation, and get a refferal to a specialist to have her checked for internal damage. Has anyone ever been in my situation? I'm frustrated because the little devil is walking freely while my daughter may have serious damage...the authorities can't do anything about my daughter's case, and I feel like I've failed her as a mother. I'm open to any suggestions, please help if you can. Thanks.

I am so sorry for the heartache you have had to endure. If it were my child i would not stop until some legal has been taken. Are his parents aware of what has happened? Any chance you can get him to confess and record it? My husband is a deceive in Illinois and he was able to get sexual assult charges on a man in which the incident happened over 10 years ago. Maybe try and talk with the police again, in the town where the incident happened. Someone has to be able to find a loophole. Good luck, God Bless!

thanks Jodi, unfortunately that's my reality. I'm so frustrated because as of six months ago he was still assulting toddlers and nothing has been done to stop him. I've worked for the prison and I've seen first hand that once a child molester, always a child molester. I'm outraged at the lack of protection for the innocent in today's society.

OK, thanks.
Unfortunately, he was 9 when this happened. It is pretty hard to get any charges to stick to an assault that happened when he was 9 because generally it is seen that he was so young he didn't really understand the consequences of his actions. That's probably why they can't do anything.

He admited that he assulted my daughter to to authorities as well as his father. The incident occured 3/2011, he admitted he assulted her on 12/26/13

He admitted to assulting my daughter when he was caught assulting his two year old sister. I wouldn't assume something of that nature

I'm confused, you say that she doesn't remember anything, what is your evidence that this happened to your daughter? Or are you just assuming it did with no actual evidence? I understand he has been caught assaulting his sister, but that does not mean he assaulted your daughter. I can see why the authorities wouldn't press charges, because you have nothing to demonstrate proof.

As far as my daughter's uti's I just want to have her completely checked out just in case. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

Thank you so much, I will continue to press the authorities for some legal action to be done. The assult happened in March 2011, she is now 6 years old. Yes, the child's parent knows what he has done because he has also assulted his younger siblings and was caught fondling his 2 year old sister which is when he confessed to assulting my daughter. He has assulted 4 children total and when he assulted his most recent victim he was 12. All the children aged between infants-4 years old. So far all the state has done is reffer him to a therapist. His mother refuses to accept his confession to assulting his two younger siblings and his father will not press charges on him for assulting his 2 year old sister, though he caught him in the act. That's every detail of the situation, can anyone point me in a direction to getting my daughter the help? Maybe something more can be done...I just don't know what to do.

You haven't said how old your daughter is now.
The UIT's may not be linked to the abuse at all. I have never been abused but went through a stage of having UTI's. I found that I needed to drink more water to stop them.
