We have a six year old in kindergarten that will be 7 in June. We opted to do three years of pre-school rather than him being among the youngest in his cohort, and we're so glad we made the decision we did. Although he's doing very well academically, he's struggling behaviorally. I created a communication chart to get feedback am/pm during his full kindergarten day, and he consistently gets a mediocre or "frown face"....rarely does he get a 'smiley' face. Reasons are for not listening, or needing constant reminders for not doing what he is supposed to. He likes his teacher(s), and I love the honest feedback each day, but to be honest, it doesn't seem to be working. I especially don't want him to establish a 'reputation' at this early age amongst his peers and teachers as it is a K-8 school. Any suggestions to help him be more successful would be appreciated!!
