My 6 Yrs old son shows less interest to study, write, reluctant to go to school. He is very excited & shouting while playing, but very calm while studying

Foster within him a love of reading. It will stand him in good stead education-wise and give him a lot of pleasure. I was a bookworm as a child. I still am!

And let him see that you and his father love reading, that's a great influence as well.

If he NEVER sees your or his father reading for pleasure, then why should he do so? In fact why should he do ANY activity that he only associates with school and learning?

Reading these forums, I can always tell very easily which mothers read a lot and those who hardly ever do so. The spelling, grammar etc ... on the posts gives a lot away!

Thanks Dove, He does less work at school. When we teach him at home, he goes "COMPLETE SILENT". We dont know he understand or not.

Thanks Jodi for your reply. He seldom concentrate at school and this requires study at home. He forget whatever he studies within a very short time.

He's 6. And he's a boy at that. Sure he's not interested in studying, writing, etc... Does he DO his work at school? You don't say that he doesn't do his work... just that he's calm about it. He sounds like a pretty normal 6 year old boy to me.

Is he required to study at home? I wouldn't want to see a 6 year old studying at home either......Maybe doing some reading after school, but studying??? Of course he'd rather be playing.
