Honestly what is your opinion on this story?? 65 year old gives birth to quadruplets in the 26th week. Now she is mother of 17 children. I would love to know your opinions on this.

Do you think the doctors did a right thing to make her pregnant? Do you think a 65 year old woman should still have children after already having 13? Would you consider this woman selfish?

Gena, I meant that if the children are not even hers biologically (and they couldn't be really because her eggs are LONG gone), I wonder what her reasoning was for doing this.

@Brittny, lol at cultural differences and with God anything is possible. There isn't a culture in the world that has the ability to naturally have children at this age, and god had nothing to do with this. IVF did. IVF is not a culture doing it differently or ingrained in traditions.

That really isn't a reason to have a baby..... :\ Quite concerning really. My kids would probably love many things - doesn't mean they will get them!!

Jodi I saw her on tv and the reason she went and got fertilized eggs implanted was because her 9year old wanted a little brother or sister. She didn't get it done in Germany because its illegal. She went to a different country.
Sorry Brttny but god had nothing to do with it. Still wondering why you asked me if I am wanting a baby??

Brittny, she comes from Germany and its not tradition at all to have children at that age, so its not a cultural thing. No I am not planning any baby at the moment. I have a wonderful son and we aren't planning any more children for the next couple of years. Why if I may ask? The only thing I know for sure is that I wouldn't want to be pregnant when I am 65 :)

Honestly we age should not be discriminated when hamving a child because there our different cultures that does it differently but being so experienced with life it can cause several health problem and complication to the baby . But with GOD ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE i think its great a child have a older guardian taking care of them . Not to be too noisy are you considering having a baby ?

I am not quite sure if I understood your question Jodi? About why bother? I just find it sad that the children were born so early and are at risk. The heaviest one is only around 950gramms.
And I totally agree that children should not be care givers. I watched a very sad documentary of children that have to take care of their parents. Children should not have to go through that.

Personally, I think it is wrong - there is a high likelihood that she will die or need carers before those children even reach adulthood. I have students who have grandparents who raise them whose grandparents are now at an age where they are struggling with their health, and it has a clear impact on the children, academically, socially and emotionally. Becoming a carer as a child is a very difficult thing and not one we should wish on our children - by choosing to have children at this age, this is what she has done. It's all good and fine to say there are older children who can become the carers of the elderly mother, but believe me, this is not often the way it works out, and ANYONE living in that home takes on a carers role.

But I do have to ask the question why. After all, it's not like it is possible that they are biologically her children, so why bother?

I am also amazed that the doctors did it. I don't believe they should have. I wonder why they were allowed to?

I personally think the doctors shouldn't have done it. There is a reason we can't have children at that age so why go against nature.
She's crazy for wanting to have children at her age as well. She had plenty so why go through it again.
