My 2nd daughter (Haeley) is almost 6 weeks old now and i am switching her from breast milk to formula, i have been gradually increaseing the amount of formula and decreasing the breast milk feedings she recieves over the last 7 days.. she now drinks 4 oz about every 3 hours during the day and if she gets hungry between i will let her nurse a little bit and she is still getting all breast milk during the night.. She is doing very well with the formula so im wanting to completly take away the breast milk at this point.. but is 7 days long enough of a switch over period??

Ah, okay :). Well, 7 days is fine. My son was about 8 weeks when I switched, and we did it in a week. I did keep up an evening and night breastfeed for a little while, but it didn't work for us, and we switched those pretty much overnight.

It should be fine. But why are you wanting to take away the breast milk? Is there any way you can continue with some of your breastfeeds?
